Enzo Health

Healthcare AI company Enzo Health announced the launch of its AI-powered electronic health record (EHR) platform for home healthcare agencies, claiming to be the first of its kind in the industry. The end-to-end agentic system—dubbed Enzo EHR—automates the entire patient episode, according to the company.

As home health care leader Enzo Health’s CEO and co-founder Zach Newman saw their industry change from hospital to home, he was surprised by the way things were done.

That’s when Newman was struck by the systems people were operating out of, and the manual work and people power that they needed outside of those EHRs to get the job done—efficiently and to get paid.

Newman said that the current situation for home health agencies is highly fractured and decisions are often made by several people from the home health agency scheduler to the clinician.

“They are paying for their EHR, but then they are going to have three to five different products and layers on top of the legacy EHR, so they can efficiently do what they need to do,” Newman said. But there’s context lost in between the different tools because the tools are siloed around the work that they’re doing, he said. Enzo EHR seeks to fill these gaps and, ultimately, cut down on processing times, Newman noted.

With the platform, organizations can seamlessly run all operations, including intake, scheduling, visits, quality compliance, billing and visibility for patients. The system accepts referral packages from a variety of sources and brings to the surface critical information to facilitate admission decisions by coordinators. The firm claims it can cut intake time from the industry average of 70 minutes to 5 minutes or less.

The solution can help clinicians schedule patients in just 30 seconds, compared to 15 minutes, by matching clinicians to patients by availability, need, location, and then creating schedules.

According to Enzo Health, the solution can save clinicians up to 75% of the time spent on charting per visit. Enzo Health says that it can save clinicians approximately 75% of the time they spend charting per visit by using AI to document conversations throughout the visit. Then it monitors physician orders and care plans and automatically generates billing claims, and the AI can detect problems that could result in claim denials before they’re sent, executives said.

Legacy EHR systems usually integrate AI capabilities into outdated systems, according to Enzo Health executives. Built as an end-to-end agentic system, Enzo EHR brings all elements of the patient journey together – from referral to billing – into one platform, with no disconnected point solutions or manual handoffs that have plagued the industry for decades.

Basically, what Enzo is doing is, we’re giving home health agencies the freedom to use all those multiple point solutions at the same time, Newman said.

The solution has been adopted by one organisation as an early adopter, and they have seen their decision-making speed increase 10X since adopting Enzo EHR, Newman said. Now, that decision, on average, takes one to two minutes, but before that, they would have to wait 15 to 20 minutes, he said. The organization has also been able to “reallocate staff” to other areas, and has reported “about 75%” reductions in documentation time for clinicians.

The startup’s goal is to save every aspect of the post-acute care process using AI to automate and streamline it, launching in 2024.

In early May, Enzo Health announced a $20 million Series A funding round, bringing its total funding to $26 million as of May 4. The company claims it has more than 40 times its revenue over the past year and currently serves more than 500,000 patients per year; Newman says that’s more than 100 organizations.

Newman noted that the most exciting aspect of AI in healthcare is for healthcare professionals to be able to “deliver quality care where it counts.”

Enzo Health has announced the launch of its new agentic electronic health record (EHR) platform designed specifically for home health agencies. By combining artificial intelligence with healthcare workflow automation, Enzo Health aims to reduce administrative burdens, improve clinical documentation, and enhance patient care delivery across the home healthcare sector.

As healthcare providers face increasing demands for efficiency and compliance, Enzo Health is positioning its agentic EHR as a next-generation solution capable of supporting clinicians, administrators, and caregivers with intelligent decision-making tools.

How Enzo Health’s Agentic EHR Works

The new Enzo Health platform leverages AI agents that can assist with documentation, scheduling, care coordination, and operational management. Unlike traditional EHR systems that primarily store patient information, Enzo Health actively supports healthcare teams by automating repetitive tasks and generating actionable insights.

The agentic capabilities of Enzo Health help home health agencies streamline daily operations while allowing caregivers to focus more time on patient interactions and quality care.
