Avanlee

Avanlee Care has secured $3.5 million in seed financing as the Montana-based healthcare technology company prepares to expand its presence among Medicare Advantage plans.

The investment will support the development of its caregiver engagement platform, strengthen its enterprise capabilities, and help health insurers bring family members more directly into the care of older adults.

The funding round was led by BEA Venture Fund, with additional backing from angel investor Esther Dyson, Chrysalis Ventures, and FairBridge VC. Dyson, who also chairs Avanlee Care’s board, has supported the company’s development as it moves beyond its original consumer-focused application toward partnerships with healthcare organizations. The latest investment brings Avanlee’s total funding to approximately $6 million.

Founded by Avanlee Christine and Chris Monson, the company developed technology designed to address a frequently overlooked part of healthcare delivery: unpaid family caregivers. These individuals often coordinate appointments, organize prescriptions, arrange transportation, and manage other everyday responsibilities for relatives with complex medical needs. Despite their involvement, they are not always formally included in communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Avanlee’s platform is intended to close that gap by giving caregivers practical tools while allowing health plans to monitor engagement and understand how family support influences member outcomes.

Users can arrange medical appointments, manage medications, receive vaccination reminders, locate providers, communicate with healthcare organizations, and connect with retail partners.

For insurers, the technology offers additional visibility into medication adherence, appointment scheduling, home healthcare utilization, and caregiver well-being. The platform also includes tools for assessing caregiver stress, providing health plans with information that could help identify individuals experiencing excessive pressure.

A central part of Avanlee’s commercial strategy is its focus on Medicare Advantage, the privately administered alternative to traditional Medicare. Health plans operating in this market must maintain strong member engagement while improving quality measures, including medication adherence, preventive screenings, and annual wellness visits.

By bringing family caregivers into these processes, Avanlee aims to help insurers address missed appointments and other gaps in care

The company’s technology also incorporates existing retail and pharmacy relationships. Its platform is integrated with Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, providing access to lower-cost prescription medications. An integration with Walmart supports grocery and household product purchases, helping families manage some of the practical demands associated with looking after older relatives.

Melissa Bradley, founder and managing partner of BEA Venture Fund, said the company was addressing a substantial but insufficiently recognized resource within healthcare. She explained that Avanlee’s technology could give healthcare organizations a structured way to involve family caregivers in improving patient engagement and health outcomes.

Avanlee is also pursuing commercial opportunities with a national Medicare Advantage insurer. The companies are discussing a potential initial deployment involving thousands of members who have an identified family caregiver, with a wider rollout anticipated in mid-2027. Separately, Avanlee is working toward another integration with a national pharmacy provider to support medication delivery.

The company is additionally introducing artificial intelligence features to make its application more useful for families. These include converting recorded caregiver notes into summaries, suggesting healthcare providers based on individual preferences, and directing users toward relevant educational resources.

Avanlee Care Strengthens Its Medicare Advantage Growth Strategy

Avanlee Care has raised significant funding to expand its presence in the growing Medicare Advantage market. The investment is expected to support the company’s efforts to improve healthcare experiences for older adults through better engagement, care coordination, and digital support. As Medicare Advantage continues to evolve, Avanlee is positioning its technology and services to help health plans build stronger relationships with members.

New Funding Supports Expansion

The latest funding gives Avanlee additional resources to grow its operations and reach more Medicare Advantage organizations. The company focuses on addressing challenges that can affect senior populations, including social isolation, communication gaps, and access to important care resources. With greater financial backing, Avanlee can invest in technology, partnerships, and services designed around the needs of older adults.
