A women’s healthcare company, Agile Therapeutics Inc., and legendary U.S. Women’s Soccer player Carli Lloyd have announced a partnership that will keep in line with Agile’s promise of improving women’s healthcare and bring awareness to women’s health topics.
Carli Loyd was attracted to Agile’s mission statement which aims to address the healthcare needs of women today. She is to play her final game for the U.S. Women’s National Team at the end of October this year.
Lloyd stated “I’m excited to be partnering with a company solely dedicated to women’s health,” while further adding, “I aim to work with organizations that focus on things I care about, and staying healthy has been a priority for my career on the field and will continue to be so as I look ahead to my next chapter. Agile’s focus on bringing women options and knowledge when it comes to their healthcare decisions is a mission I’m proud to be part of. And the fact that I’m a Jersey girl, representing a New Jersey company makes it even better.”
In February 2020 Agile received approval for its first product, Twirla® transdermal system, from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Twirla® is a weekly contraceptive patch (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol) with the company having another four contraceptive products in the pipeline.
Agile views the partnership as an important opportunity in helping the development of its corporate culture and corporate brand through collaborations with like-minded leaders sharing the same values and mission as the company.
The CEO of Agile Therapeutics, Al Altomari, exclaimed that Carli and Agile’s values align closely with Carli understanding the necessity of empowering women to reach their goals, believe in themselves and put themselves, specially their healthcare, first.
