Salesforce is expanding its collection of preconfigured artificial intelligence agents designed to handle routine administrative responsibilities for healthcare payers, providers and public health agencies.

To support this effort, the company has formed partnerships with three health technology firms, namely HealthEx, Viz.ai and Verily. Together, they aim to help healthcare organizations manage complex operational tasks by integrating essential data that can automate processes such as clinical intake, updates to electronic health records, hospital bed coordination and monitoring potential infectious disease outbreaks.

According to Salesforce, the six newly introduced AI agents are designed to function as a continuous administrative support layer, capable of operating around the clock to manage critical workflows.

The company first introduced Agentforce Health last year as part of a broader strategy to deepen its presence in agentic AI, particularly in areas tied to patient access, public health initiatives and clinical R&D. In a press release, Salesforce said the expanded agent library can help speed up closed-loop referral processes, clarify complicated insurance cost details like deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses for patients, coordinate hospital facility operations and evaluate disease patterns for public health authorities.

Amit Khanna, SVP and general manager at Agentforce Health, said in a statement that healthcare workers should not be expected to function within systems weighed down by disconnected data and heavy administrative burdens. He said Salesforce’s platform is designed to unify interactions across the patient journey so clinicians can focus more on patient care rather than managing multiple systems.

Khanna added that the company’s AI-powered agents, built on a healthcare-specific platform, are intended to handle administrative responsibilities around the clock. By doing so, he said the technology helps organizations speed up approvals, enhance care outcomes and engage patients more efficiently while easing the cognitive load on clinicians.

Through its collaborations with HealthEx and Verily, Salesforce is enabling the creation of a cohesive health record that merges patient-controlled digital health wallets with upgraded clinical and social data, including information generated by wearable devices.

Viz.ai, an artificial intelligence platform focused on disease detection and care coordination, is also part of the initiative. When integrated with Agentforce Health, the platform can identify potential medical conditions by analyzing medical imaging and electronic health record data. Once a potential issue is detected, the system can automatically initiate workflows within the platform, Salesforce said.

Multispecialty physician organization MIMIT Health has already begun using Agentforce Health and is among the early adopters of the technology. The group reports that deploying the autonomous tools has already produced measurable improvements in its operations.

Paramjit Chopra, CEO and founder of MIMIT Health, said the organization has experienced significant operational gains, including a nearly 460% return on investment and approximately $1.5 million in cost savings. He added that these improvements have been accompanied by higher patient satisfaction and a lighter administrative workload.

Salesforce has also introduced HIPAA-compliant, AI-driven voice features that allow patients and health plan members to call in and receive assistance with questions about copayments, insurance benefits and eligibility details, the company said.

Salesforce Expands Its Healthcare AI Strategy

Through this partnership, Salesforce plans to deploy several AI agents that can handle complex healthcare tasks such as patient intake, clinical documentation, referral management, and hospital logistics. These AI agents are built on Salesforce’s Agentforce platform, which focuses on using “digital labor” to assist healthcare teams with repetitive administrative work.

By combining the technologies from HealthEx, Verily, and Viz.ai, Salesforce can create a unified system that connects clinical data, patient engagement tools, and real-time analytics within a single platform.

One of the biggest goals of the Salesforce initiative is to unify healthcare data from multiple sources. HealthEx contributes patient engagement tools, Verily provides precision health data from wearables and long-term monitoring, while Viz.ai delivers AI-driven imaging analysis and care coordination capabilities.

Together, these technologies enable Salesforce AI agents to analyze patient information more effectively and support healthcare teams with faster decision-making.
