AristaMD has launched a joint service solution for primary care providers (PCPs), enabling patients to have quicker access to specialized care.
About ArtistaMD and its Platform for Primary Care Providers :
- AristaMD is a digital healthcare company that specializes in care transition technologies. The company offers a joint service solution for primary care providers (PCPs) that combines patient-provider matching, electronic referrals to specialists, and eConsults into a one-stop solution to cut down on pointless doctor visits and administrative burdens.
- The company is based in San Diego, California, and serves tens of thousands of healthcare professionals in clinics around the country.
The system combines patient-provider matching, electronic referrals to specialists, and eConsults into a one-stop solution to cut down on pointless doctor visits and administrative burdens.
The platform smoothly integrates electronic referral processing, eConsults, and patient-to-provider matching into a single interoperable solution for PCPs. AristaMD claims that its referral solution guarantees that each patient receives prompt and appropriate care from the right physician in a suitable location. Additionally, patients who have conditions that can be addressed through peer consultation can access treatment directly from their primary care provider.
The CEO of AristaMD, Brooke LeVasseur, believes that access is an important concern in the country and that there is a scarcity of specialists that is growing with time.
eConsults is a service that AristaMD introduced in 2015, which enables PCPs to ask different specialists for advice on certain cases and receive a response within 24 hours. LeVasseur estimated that a third of all referrals are suitable for eConsults. In over 75 percent of eConsults, the PCP can treat the patient right away without a referral. The availability of experts is also improved, according to LeVasseur, for patients with severe, more difficult conditions that genuinely do not need any attention.
AristaMD’s referral management services link patients to the most suitable specialists based on their insurance, geography, and the sub-specialty required when a face-to-face referral is necessary. The firm claims that the computerized ordering of referrals relieves PCPs of the most minor need to use the phone and fax in the past. When a recommendation is made, the new service completes the contact with the specialists and is supposed to enhance overall care coordination.
AristaMD has a referral coordination team that PCPs can use to submit cases for eConsults.
With users in almost all 50 states and Washington, AristaMD collaborates with tens of thousands of healthcare professionals in clinics around the country. Together with PCPs, it collaborates with health systems that use its platform and its internal experts to respond to eConsults.
According to LeVasseur, the platform also records new diagnoses and the results of care episodes, so payers may be able to utilize that information to target certain actions at particular members.
