Following the signing of a new collaborative agreement with a pharmacy care manager, GoodRx is now offering its services to clients of Navitus Health Solutions.

GoodRx is a resource for healthcare discounts and information, making quality medical care accessible and affordable for all Americans. Consumers may have free, instantaneous access to extensive healthcare studies and data, as well as transparent and reduced costs for brand and generic pharmaceuticals, telemedicine consultations, and other healthcare services.

Navitus Health Solutions, established in 2003 to offer a substitute to conventional PBM systems, is jointly owned by Costco Wholesale Corporation and SSM Health. It is motivated by a desire to serve people and is dedicated to reducing the price of the pharmaceutical supply chain so that everyone may afford the treatment they need.

Thanks to the new Savings Connect initiative, when a member is at the pharmacy counter, they will now be able to instantly obtain the cost information for generic pharmaceuticals from GoodRx. On the back end, prices will be compared with one another, and the member will be presented with the option with the lowest cost. This eliminates the need for individuals to evaluate costs on their own.

According to the announcement, all that’s required of members is to present their cards at the pharmacy counter, and then Navitus and GoodRx will work together to find the most affordable option for their prescriptions.

David Fields, Navitus Health Solutions CEO, stated, “Navitus strives to make medications more affordable for the people who need them. As healthcare costs rise, it is critical that we align with companies that share our mission to drive out needless costs for our members.”

The amount of money contributed by each member will count toward meeting their individual deductibles and maximums for out-of-pocket expenses. The system utilizes clinical data linking to guarantee that every transaction will continue to be linked to the prescription record of a member.

The PBM has ambitions to expand the initiative to a wider audience starting in January 2024. Currently, Navitus customers may enjoy savings on several common generic drugs when they use pharmacies that are part of the network.

Beginning in the final quarter of 2022, clients of EpiphanyRx, which is Navitus’ service geared toward growing and mid-market employer groups, were given access to the program when it was first made available to them.

Cynthia Meiners, the Strategic Program Development Officer at GoodRx, expressed the organization’s focus on venturing into the insurance benefit market. She highlighted the perceived value of transparency and substantial cost reductions for all involved parties. Meiners conveyed her enthusiasm for collaborating with Navitus to offer more affordable prescriptions to Navitus members.
