In an effort to simplify the process of managing pharmaceutical expenditures for businesses, the healthcare navigation firm Quantum Health is introducing a new service.

To provide guidance on cost-effective options and solutions that are accessible via the pharmacy benefit, the Premier Pharmacy tool puts the clinical pharmacy team of the firm to work. The Real-Time Intercept system and the Quantum team collaborate directly with providers to give filtered and individualized insights.

As per Quantum’s statement, the concept is intended to enhance the overall experience of the members while also creating significant reductions in expenses.

Zane Burke, the CEO of Quantum Health, expressed in the press release the company’s dedication to enhancing its endeavors in handling specialty medication expenses. He emphasized that their distinct perspective on these developments via their health benefits navigation platform enables them to actively interact with providers and guide members towards suitable medication choices for optimal health results at minimized costs. Additionally, he noted that Quantum Health assists their employer clients in addressing these unsustainable cost patterns.

According to the statement, the concept behind Quantum’s platform is to provide value-based solutions in addition to direct instruction and assistance for the members themselves. The firm carried out a survey of its clientele in the previous year and discovered that its platform had a success rate of 91% in terms of moving the location of care for specialty services.

Additionally, in order to broaden its scope of influence, Quantum recently announced partnerships with the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network and Kindbody. During the announcement of the Vanderbilt alliance in February, Burke said that there is a huge need from companies for solutions that may assist them in mitigating growing expenses.

“Employers are looking for ways to control their costs and ensure that their employees are getting a good service along the way,” he remarked. “Navigation is the best tool out there to connect the disparate pieces of healthcare today.”

Meanwhile, Scott Doolittle, the chief financial officer of the company, explained that the organization’s specialization lies in addressing intricate issues, leveraging their team’s healthcare expertise. He highlighted their staff’s proficiency in healthcare, pharmacy benefits, and pharmaceuticals, which includes having pharmacists on board.

Moreover, Doolittle emphasized Quantum Health’s pivotal role at the nexus of provider interactions and member experiences. He noted that they manage inbound communications from providers while ensuring that members receive necessary care.

The Premier Pharmacy solution enhances the company’s current core navigation and specialized pharmacy capabilities. This encompasses utilization services for management, which assess the need for treatments, and the firm’s site-of-care program, which finds the most financially viable site for giving a specialty medicine (since the cost differs depending on the location).

Currently, companies are facing significant difficulties due to the high expenses associated with prescription drugs. Approximately 92% of employers are concerned about developing expensive medications, and 91% are troubled by the general trend of rising pharmacy costs, according to a survey conducted by the Business Group on Health in 2023. According to the report, pharmacy expenses accounted for 24% of employers’ total health costs in 2022.
